Master of Science in Applied Finance (MAF)

PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION COURSE

Communicating in a professional and an effective manner is essential for the 21st century workplace. This 28-hour interactive Profession Communication course (PCC) conducted by the Centre for English Communication (CEC) aims to equip MAF students to cope with their postgraduate programme as well as be future-ready for the workplace. The modules covered in this course include persuasive writing and presentation, pronunciation and inter-cultural communication. Each module provides students with opportunities to hone and improve their communication skills with feedback from the instructor as well as their peers in class and during Individual consultation.

By the end of the course, students should be able to:
 

1.         Write with an awareness of purpose, audience and context

2.         Pronounce words clearly

3.         Deliver confident and persuasive presentations, and 

4.         Interact appropriately in different cultural contexts
